Over the past 35 years, the Health Action Network Society (HANS) has served in the interest of Canadians, in providing access to health information.
The Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) receives both federal and corporate funding to support the dissemination of accurate news to Canadians.
On March 20, 2019, the Board of Directors of HANS wrote a letter to the CBC Ombudsman, Mr. Jack Nagler, raising concerns over CBCs ongoing agenda to undermine and discredit natural health products and licensed health care professionals who recommend these products.
On March 28, 2019, the CBC published an article calling into question the Government funding received by HANS, in relation to allegations that the organization’s advocacy for informed consent and vaccination safety are in alignment with ‘anti-vaccination’ propaganda.
The Health Action Network Society refutes any association with an ‘anti-vaccination’ position, and dissuades the irresponsible reporting associated with such allegations.
HANS serves to remind the CBC and all Canadians of the founding principles of medical ethics: autonomy, justice, beneficence, and non-maleficence.
