Ayurveda: Mind/Body Healing – Rebalancing the Gut through Ayurveda

Imbalances that inform and precipitate disease processes are considered to originate in psycho-emotional and psycho-spiritual disturbances, therefore meditation is considered the first and last medicine, to help re-equilibrate our consciousness. Balance and imbalance are defined according to the five element (panchamahabhuta) theory of Sankhiya philosophy, which also informs Yoga, or the science of re-unification of soul and Oversoul. Ayurveda helps to understand and re-balance the physiology, particularly optimal digestion and elimination, while Yoga is principally for re-balancing the mind. The two are therefore inseparable and were always taught together until modern times. You will learn practical means of restoring physical health such as individualized food guidelines (including herbal science), daily self-care practices and the theory of cleansing and rejuvenation according to ancient Ayurveda, still most valid today.
