For Paul Bissonnette, from the first time he heard meditation gongs at a yoga studio in 2004, he was hooked. Likewise for Kathy Cameron, who heard them in a sound healing several years ago. The experience, as she puts it, was "profound." Hearing the vibrational sounds of the gongs, they say, brought them deep relaxation, harmony and inner peace.

Paul, now a trained gongmaster, and Kathy, a certified sound practitioner, have together formed Harmony of the Spheres as a way of sharing their passion of gong sound healing therapy with others.

One way in which to experience the healing sounds of the gongs is to attend a gong meditation, or "gong bath" performed by Paul and Kathy. A gong bath consists of an hour-long meditation using five to eight gongs. The sound vibrations from these gongs, Kathy states, "have a profound effect on our nervous system and help balance left and right brain waves, and lower heart and respiratory rates." This deep state of relaxation, Paul says, "is like hitting the master reset button" of the body, mind and spirit--promoting calmness, rejuvenation, harmony and balance.

People who have benefited from gong sound therapy have included everyone from cancer patients and those suffering from autism, to yoga students and those who are looking to relieve the stress and anxiety of everyday life.
