Restoring Your Body's Natural Healing Ability

Source: Health Action, Winter 2010

Stress often keeps us awake, but stress overload―whatever its source―disrupts the body's natural healing process, resulting in poor health. BodyTalk, a holistic healing system developed 20 years ago, helps the body tap into its innate ability to heal. It also helps the patient deal, on a mind-body level, with life stress in a more balanced and harmonious way.

Christa Lynn, a certified BodyTalk practitioner with a full-time practice (www.thebodytalkclinic.com), sees patients with health concerns ranging from migraines, digestive disorders, autoimmune issues, depression and anxiety to sports injuries, infertility, skin disorders and chronic fatigue.

The BodyTalk practitioner uses muscular biofeedback (similar to muscle testing) to determine where energy systems are deficient in the body. She then redirects vital substances such as oxygen, blood supply, nutrients and nerve flow to the deficient areas. Patients often notice results in just a few sessions and even after the first treatment.

One of Christa Lynn's clients in her late 20s had cancer. "She saw me after finishing all the rounds of chemotherapy," Christa says. "We worked on the side-effects of the chemo, mostly poor circulation and profuse sweating. We also worked on shifting anger and belief systems in relation to being diagnosed with cancer. After a few sessions, her circulation improved, the excess sweating subsided.

"Doctors had told her that she was infertile from the chemotherapy. We did some more BodyTalk sessions to address fertility. After three months, she became pregnant. We continued with sessions once a month throughout her pregnancy. She gave birth to a very healthy baby boy weighing in at nine pounds!"

Another client had chronic eczema for the last 40 years. She had tried all sorts of cortisone creams and therapies with little success. After her first BodyTalk session, the eczema improved by 80 percent and after three sessions it was gone. No more pain, redness or itchiness! "We addressed environmental toxins that impacted the health of her liver, lungs and skin," recalls Christa. "This was due to toxins that her mother was exposed to during pregnancy that influenced my client during fetal development."
