A groundbreaking new program is being launched this fall to help breast cancer survivors across Canada. Unbridling Human Potential, a Langley, BC-based collaborative, is now offering breast cancer survivors an opportunity for a new kind of healing.

By partnering with horses in a program called "Hoof Beats Back to Power...Let the Healing Continue," breast cancer survivors will experience a new kind of emotional wellness.

Melanie, a breast cancer survivor and program supporter, has experienced firsthand the powerful effect of working with horses on her own well-being. "It has had an incredible effect on my life on so many levels besides just physical wellness," she says. "My horse partner helped me find renewed strength and confidence in moving ahead with my life after the challenges of breast cancer."

This is not a traditional riding program. Each participant works with her own healing horse in a reflective process that includes journaling, drumming, meditation and expressive arts.
