Conscious Cooking - New eBook
Source: October 2009
HANS Professional Member Alexis Costello has just launched her new ebook, Conscious Cooking. This book is designed to change the way you think about food. By changing the energy around food, providing information about the building blocks of good nutrition and offering tasty, nurturing and healthy recipes, Conscious Cooking is a must for parents who want to give their kids a good start, or anyone who has ever stood in a health food store feeling lost!
Alexis shares her experience of working with many different families as a natural health practitioner, explaining things in an easy-to-understand way with humor and joy. The book is written in three parts. The first part examines our cultural belief systems about food and shows the role that intention can play in healthy eating. The second part looks into nutrition, explaining the roles of proteins, carbohydrates and fats; how to tell the difference between "good" and "bad" choices and providing useful tables detailing different legumes and whole grains; how they taste and how to prepare them. The third section is full of recipes without milk, wheat and sugar for those ready to experiment in the kitchen.
Making the book available online means that it is less expensive for families. The ebook costs $5.99 for the pdf copy, rather than the $20-25 it would be if purchased retail in paperback. To download the book, go to www.happilyholistic.ca
