Story of Healing: Hormonal Imbalance

I started thinking about menopause when I entered my 40s. I had a few friends going through it and for most it was hell. My period had been getting worse for about a year and I started to have very painful cramps. I was worried that when I did go into  menopause, I may be one of those women in agony and I knew I didn't want to resort to hormone replacement therapy.

I asked my naturopathic doctor why women suffered so much from this. He said it was due to hormonal imbalance and the accumulation of toxins in our bodies from environment, food and products.

Testing with my naturopath determined that my hormones were imbalanced. He suggested a few supplements, some adjustments to my diet and lymphatic drainage therapy. I noticed a difference right away. The period crampsnot had cramping at all, and at my last checkup my hormones were balanced.

I am determined to go through menopause without complications, and I strongly believe  every woman should look at alternatives even if they're not in menopause yet. Any changes you can do now will pay off. For me naturopathic and homeopathic treatment, acupuncture, reiki, and yoga have proven to be amazing tools to take care of myself and understand my body better.
