Story of Healing: Depression
Source: Health Action Magazine Spring 2008
At 33, I suffered from severe depression. I couldn't eat or sleep. I was told I would only be able to control it with medication.
A book about rational emotive behavior therapy proved a godsend. It didn't take too many sessions with a psychologist who practiced this method to show me that I had a whole lot more coping skills than I'd known.
Realizing there was also a physical element to my problem, I found a naturopathic doctor and began an anti-candida diet and supplement program.
I began taking short walks every day. All of this helped my health stabilize. Researching further, I tried various detoxification programs, including anti-parasitic cleanses, liver flushes, mercury amalgam removal and infrared sauna sessions.
I'm now in great health-strong and confident with the tools I need to keep this way, too.
