The North American cosmetics and personal care industry does 50 to 60 billon dollars in sales annually. Many claims are made as to how good these products are at rejuvenating the skin by reducing wrinkles, lines and supporting anti-aging properties. But do we really know all of the effects of the ingredients that we are putting on our faces and bodies?
At this lecture, we will discuss some of the more common toxic beauty ingredients and discuss their function and health effects. Researchers report that more than 10,000 ingredients in our cosmetics and personal care products are industrial chemicals, including carcinogens (cancer causing), pesticides, reproductive toxins, and hormone disruptors. Find out what you can do to prevent health problems due to chemicals and other synthetic beauty ingredients. What are some safe and natural ingredients to look for instead?
